Whitefish Lake is a summertime playground for water-skiing, paddling, swimming and sunbathing. The lake is 7 miles long with nearly 16 miles of shoreline.
City Beach serves as the main public access point for Whitefish Lake. Amenities include a sandy beach with lifeguards during the day and a designated swimming area with docks and a boat launch. Gazebos, picnic tables, charcoal grills and a snack bar make it an ideal place for a family gathering. The beach is accessed off Edgewood Drive just north of the Whitefish viaduct.
Whitefish Lake State Park is in a secluded beach on the west shore with 25 campsites, a day-use area and a boat launch. A variety of campsites allow both tents and RVs, with water and showers available. The park is less than one mile from the Whitefish Trail hiking and biking trail system.
Les Mason State Park on the east shore of Whitefish Lake offers a smooth cobble beach, shaded picnic tables and a designated swimming area with a floating dock. Launch a canoe or kayak here. $5 entrance fee for non-residents. 2650 East Lakeshore Drive.
