Whitefish Kiddie Park
Tunnels, bridges, monkey bars, big slides, little slides — the Kiddie Park in downtown Whitefish is the place both locals and visitors go to let the little ones burn off that pent-up energy.
The 3-acre park is located on the south end of Central Avenue, about one block from the shopping district. On-street parking is available.
There is a toddler-sized playground perfect for kids who are just getting their feet beneath them. The area includes mini slides, a twisty slide, a low-angle climbing area and a tunnel.
The opposite side of the park is where big kids can run wild. The tunnel twisty slide is a favorite, along with the bouncy bridge and climbing obstacles.
There are no swings or teeter-totters at this playground, it’s mostly a jungle-gym.
The park is surrounded by a large open green space with mature trees and is flanked by the Whitefish River to the south, Baker Avenue to the west and Central Avenue on the east.
Public restrooms are on site with running water in the warm months. Picnic tables and one gazebo are available for snacking.
Riverside Park, tennis courts and the walking path are just across Baker Avenue.
Local’s tip: The park is rocking with action on most sunny afternoons. It’s a great places for kids and parents to mingle.
